Easy to Use, Easy to Clean Chicken Coop

Picture
Based on the spacing we use for our own chickens, we recommend the 6' x 8' Champion Coop for at least 3 chickens, and up to 7 chickens.  This design has 10 linear feet of roosting bars and comes with two nesting boxes which can be positioned either inside the coop door on the run side, or inside the back hatch door, depending on your preference.
Coops with fixed nest boxes and hinged lids often develop leaks in the hinged roof:  our movable nest boxes give you options for egg retrieval that are just as accessible, plus they are easy to take out and clean, and simplify cleaning the interior of the coop by having fewer surfaces to clean.
Front and rear access points to the coop, moveable nest boxes, and the ability to keep the enclosed coop/roost space closed off from the run space all allow you flexibility to manage your flock through the seasons and as needs and conditions change.

Available Options:

Roofing Color
+$40

We use durable Galvalume metal roofing on all our chicken coops
We use durable Galvalume metal roofing on all our coops.  The standard color option is silver, but you can choose the green roofing color shown in some photos for $40 more.

Roof Insulation
+$60

Add a layer of 1" rigid foam insulation between the coop interior ceiling and the exterior metal roofing. This not only gives your flock a measure of protection from extreme cold, but the foil facing on the insulation also reflects heat and modulates temperatures in the summer as well.

Heavy Duty 40 mil Vinyl Floor Liner, $85

Picture
We searched high and low for the perfect chicken coop floor liner material, and this is it.  The 40 mil thickness is four times the thickness of vinyl found on linoleum/vinyl flooring, and unlike kitchen/bath flooring, this material STAYS FLEXIBLE and does not crack or get brittle, even in extreme cold weather!

Perimeter Security Kit
$165

For an additional layer of predator protection surrounding your coop, this ready-to-install kit includes 24” wide lengths of vinyl coated 1/2” x 1/2” hardware cloth with strips of cedar for securing to the bottom perimeter of the run.  Stainless steel screws and installation instructions are also provided.

Chicken Coop Delivery Information

Our delivery rate is $2.75/mi from Thorndike, Maine with a minimum charge of $150.  We can offer a discounted delivery rate to customers who are flexible on their delivery date-- please contact us with your location to see what we can currently offer.

The delivery rate includes unloading AND placement as long as the site and the approach to the site is accessible for us to place the coop for you.  A fairly reliable test we use to assess accessibility is, Can you easily drive a low-clearance, 2WD car onto the spot where the coop will sit?  This approximates both the height and width clearances as well as the ground surface required for placement.  If you're not sure, please reach out and we can help you assess.

If we cannot access the site for placement, the delivery rate includes unloading only (at the closest point to the site that we can access) and additional charges will apply for placement, if possible.
Purchases can also be picked up direct from our shop in Thorndike by appointment.
