Easy to Use Walk-In Chicken Coop and Run

Picture
Based on the spacing we use for our own chickens, we recommend the 11.5' x 20' Champion Coop for at least 12 chickens, and up to 24 chickens.  This design has 25 linear feet of roosting bars and comes with six exterior-access nest boxes. The lid is secured with a continuous aluminum hinge and stainless steel screws. Lid can be latched open and the safety hook also keeps lid securely shut from predators.
Both the coop and run are walk-in, and the coop is "split level", with half of the floor at "ground level" and half of the floor elevated, with the roosting bars above the elevated floor section.  The pop door between the coop and run is located inside the coop for easy access when you want to close off birds' access to either area. Litter boards keep litter on the upper floor contained, and are removable for better access when cleaning the coop.

Double doors give access to the "loft" area of the coop from inside the run as well.  These doors can be latched open, giving an "open air" style coop option for the warmer months.

20" diameter round windows with removable plexiglas inserts give additional options for warm weather ventilation.

In the winter when the coop is closed up tight, vents on both the front and back gable walls provide ventilation critical for your flocks health and well being.

Roof Insulation
+$170

Add a layer of 1" rigid foam insulation between the coop interior ceiling and the exterior metal roofing. This not only gives your flock a measure of protection from extreme cold, but the foil facing on the insulation also reflects heat and modulates temperatures in the summer as well.

Heavy Duty 40 mil Vinyl Floor Liner
+$275

Picture
We searched high and low for the perfect chicken coop floor liner material, and this is it.  The 40 mil thickness is four times the thickness of vinyl found on linoleum/vinyl flooring, and unlike kitchen/bath flooring, this material STAYS FLEXIBLE and does not crack or get brittle, even in extreme cold weather!

Perimeter Security Kit
+$325

For an additional layer of predator protection surrounding your coop, this ready-to-install kit includes 24” wide lengths of vinyl coated 1/2” x 1/2” hardware cloth with strips of cedar for securing to the bottom perimeter of the run.  Stainless steel screws and installation instructions are also provided.

Chicken Coop Delivery Information

Picture
Our delivery rate for the Extra Large Champion Coop is $3.75/mi from Thorndike, Maine with a minimum charge of $200.

The delivery rate includes unloading AND placement as long as the site and the approach to the site is accessible for a pickup truck with a 20 ft. trailer (47 ft. total length), requiring clearances of 12 ft. in height, 14 ft. in width, no sharp turns or sudden changes in grade, all on a drivable surface. Low branches overhanging the driveway, landscaping details, and sudden changes in elevation tend to be the most common obstacles.

In order to operate the equipment we use for unloading the Extra Large Champion Coop, we require an area at least 18' wide by 20' deep that is relatively flat and level where the coop is to be placed (an additional 3' on either side of the 11.5' width of the coop).

If we cannot drive directly to the site, the delivery rate includes unloading only (at the closest point to the site that we can access) and additional charges will apply for placement, if possible.
Purchases can also be picked up direct from our shop in Thorndike by appointment.
