Champion Chicken Coop Frequently Asked Questions:
Do You Deliver Your Chicken Coops?
Yes! Our delivery rate is $2.75/mi from Thorndike, Maine with a minimum charge of $150. We can offer a discounted delivery rate to customers who are flexible on their delivery date-- please contact us with your location to see what we can currently offer.
The delivery rate includes unloading AND placement as long as the site and the approach to the site is accessible for us to place the coop for you. A fairly reliable test we use to assess accessibility is, Can you drive a low-clearance, 2WD car onto the spot where the coop will sit? This approximates both the height and width clearances as well as the ground surface required for placement. If you're not sure, please reach out and we can help you assess.
If we cannot access the site for placement, the delivery rate includes unloading only (at the closest point to the site that we can access) and additional charges will apply for placement, if possible.
Purchases can also be picked up direct from our shop in Thorndike by appointment.

What Site Preparation is Needed Prior to Delivery of a Chicken Coop?
Each site is different, but typically very little is required as far as site preparation, and often it is best if you don't do any more than clear debris and mow. If new material (gravel, sand, etc) is added to the site before delivery, it can create accessibility issues for us when it comes to placement, so if you do opt to add material to your site beforehand, we ask that the new material is compacted, and that a 'wheelable' transition to the surrounding grade is built in. Approach it as if you had to push a very large and very heavy wheelbarrow onto the spot, because that's basically what we do!
We will put blocks and shims under the bottom of the coop to leave the structure sitting firmly on all four corners when we place it. After the coop has been placed, you will then go around and fill in low spots, and add material to cover the perimeter security kit if you selected that option, or use your own materials and methods to achieve perimeter security.
